Christmas Campaign
One of the most impactful initiatives we support is the annual Christmas Campaign, aimed at bringing festive cheer to children living in Direct Provision (DP) centres across Cork. These centres are home to families with limited resources and opportunities for integration into local communities, making this campaign a vital effort to ensure no child feels left out during the holiday season.
The Christmas parties, which have been held every year for over two decades, are organised by the Direct Provision Christmas Parties initiative, with support from UCC students, staff, Cork Migrant Centre, and other organisations. Since 2023, Saoirse has been proud to help organise the fundraising efforts that make these events possible.
Funds raised through the campaign provide nearly 500 children with a gift of their choice and offer families a chance to enjoy festive celebrations during what can often be a challenging time. This year, we aim to raise €25,000 to ensure every child in Direct Provision in Cork experiences the magic of Christmas. Together, we work to make sure every child feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
