Empower. Skill-share. Teach. Support.
At Saoirse - Ethnic Hands on Deck, our impact resonates beyond mere economic transactions. We are a vibrant community-driven social enterprise, where the strengths and talents of migrant women artists are harnessed and celebrated. Our ethos revolves around the principle of skill-sharing, where experienced migrant women artists teach and empower other members, fostering a supportive environment for personal and professional development.
Through our initiatives, we not only provide platforms for migrant artists to showcase and sell their creations but also offer training programs for other migrant women, equipping them with valuable skills for economic empowerment. Each purchase made through our platform contributes directly to our mission, enabling us to reinvest all profits back into projects aimed at supporting migrant women in Cork.
In partnership with the Cork Migrant Centre at Nano Nagle Place, we have built a strong foundation for community collaboration and support. Together, we strive to expand our reach and impact, with plans to focus on entrepreneurship and leadership training opportunities. By nurturing entrepreneurial spirit and leadership qualities among migrant women, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change within our community and beyond.
Through Saoirse - Ethnic Hands on Deck, we are not just creating beautiful products; we are fostering a movement of empowerment, resilience, and solidarity. Our name, Saoirse, meaning "freedom" in Irish, encapsulates our dedication to breaking barriers and unlocking the limitless potential of migrant women. Together, we weave a tapestry of diversity, unity, and hope, embodying the essence of our shared journey towards freedom and prosperity.
